Record Snippets of Calls with a Grandstream Conference Phone
Learn more about the Recorder application of a GAC2570 conference phone and how it can be used to review recorded calls and create voice memos.

If your account does not have call recording enabled by default, you can use the Start Recording and Stop Recording options in a call to toggle call recording on and off. Once a segment of a call has been recorded, you can review and manage those recordings using the Recorder application of the conference phone.
Record a Snippet of a Call
While you are speaking with a caller or hosting a conference call, you can use the Start Recording and Stop Recording options to toggle call recording on and off.
- While in an active call, tap the Start Recording option.
- When you are done recording this call, tap the Stop Recording option.
Mark Portions of a Recording
You can also mark portions of the recording as important by tapping the Mark button that appears once recording has started.
Doing so will add flags that make reviewing portions of the snippet easier in the Recorder application.
The Recorder Application: Review Recordings
The Recorder application of the conference phone's Menu can be used to view recordings and record voice memos.
Quick Tip: There is not a time limit for the storage of recorded snippets of a call; however, there is a storage limit.
Up to 500MB of recordings can be stored.
It is recommended to delete any recordings that are no longer needed to ensure future calls can be recorded as needed.
To use the Recorder application, swipe left on the Home screen and select the Recorder option.
In the Recorder menu, you can listen to recordings and any recorded voice memos.
You can tap and hold a recording to do one of the following:
- Export - Download the recording to a specific storage drive, such as a flash drive connected to the conference phone.
- Send - Export the recording to a device connected to the conference phone via Bluetooth, USB, or HDMI.
- Rename - Update the name of the recording to make it easier to find later.
- Lock - Lock the recording to prevent it from being deleted by a user or overwritten if the phone reaches its maximum storage limit.

Delete - Delete obsolete recordings to free up space for more recordings.
Voice Memos
With the Recorder application, you can also record voice memos or reminders for yourself. Many people may use this feature to create reminders about important information from a call or any upcoming meetings.
To record a voice memo or reminder for yourself…
- In the Recorder menu, tap the Record icon on the top-right of the screen.
- To start recording, tap the Record button.
- While speaking, you can tap the Mark button to mark a segment of the call as important.
- When you are done recording, tap the Confirm button.
✔ Now you can review this voice memo at a later date. The voice memo in the Recorder application will show any marks that were added while recording to make reviewing the memo easier.
Recording Settings
In the Recorder application's settings you can further finetune how the conference call handles recordings. You can also view how much storage has been used for recordings.
Recordings When There is Not Enough Space
One option you can configure is the Not enough space for recording setting. Select how the phone should handle recordings when the storage limit has been met, such as:
- Replace Old Recording - Have the new recording saved over the oldest available recording that is not locked.
- Stop and Save - Stop the current recording once the storage limit is met and save it.
Recorder Password
To secure your recordings, you can use the Enable password option to set up a password that users must enter before they can access and use the Recorder application.
IMPORTANT: This password will become active once the Recorder application is accessed after being closed. If you are not prompted to enter a password when you tap the Recorder option, make sure the previous instance of the Recorder has been closed.
To close a previously opened screen…
1. Hold down the Back button to pop up all opened applications.
2. Tap the X or swipe right on the screen you want to close.
You can also clear all opened pages using the Clear button.
