Assign Emergency Caller IDs and Addresses
Learn more about how you can assign users and their devices Emergency Caller IDs and Emergency Addresses to make sure that emergency services see the correct phone number and location for any users placing emergency calls.
At some point, many businesses will have employees transfer offices and work remotely. Some businesses may expand and add more offices/buildings where groups of employees may work. With these kinds of changes, it is essential that users and their devices have up-to-date E911 information. This ensures that emergency services are able to see who is calling and from where so that responders can be dispatched to the correct location.
Note: This guide will explore assigning Emergency Addresses and Emergency Caller IDs to users and devices.

Add More Emergency Numbers and Addresses
For Users
A user and groups of users can be assigned the same Emergency Caller ID and Emergency Address. This can be done in the Users page.
Note: The E911 information a user is assigned will also be assigned to their device by default.
If a device needs an Emergency Caller ID and/or an Emergency Address that is different than the user it is assigned to, follow the second tab to learn how you can assign a device its own E911 information.
To assign an Emergency Caller ID and Emergency Address to a group of users associated with a location…
1. Navigate to the Users page.
2. Select the users that need to be assigned the Emergency Caller ID and Emergency Address for a location.
3. Click the Bulk Edit button.
4. In the Bulk User Edit menu, use the Emergency Caller ID and Emergency Address options to select the address and number that should be shown for emergency calls made by these users.

Numbers marked with “(Legacy)” are not the new E911 numbers.
5. When you are ready, click the Save button.
6. Repeat steps 2-5 for each group of users associated with a different location.
For Devices
If needed, a user's device can be assigned a different emergency caller ID and address. This is not necessary if the user of that device only has one device or if the devices are all at the same location.
Note: If the emergency number information is not changed on a device, then it will use the same number and location information as its associated User.
