Transfer a Call

While you are handling a call, you may find it necessary to send your caller to a different destination.
There are four different ways you can transfer calls to users:

  1. Blind Transferring
  2. Attended Transferring
  3. Transferring to Voicemail (for internal users)

Perform a Blind Transfer

An unattended transfer, also known as a cold or blind transfer, is when you transfer a call to another destination without establishing a conversation with this new call recipient. The first call is put on hold until the call is transferred successfully.

To make an unattended transfer:

  1. On an active call, touch the transfer button.

✔ The Keypad screen will display while the first call is placed on hold.

Quick Tip: To cancel the transfer, tap CANCEL TRANSFER at the top of the screen.

  2. Use the Keypad to dial the other party's extension or telephone number.

Perform an Attended Transfer

An attended transfer, also known as a warm transfer, is when you transfer a call to another destination but want to speak with this new call recipient before the transfer. The first call is put on hold until the call is transferred successfully.

To make an unattended transfer:

  1. On an active call, touch the att. transfer button.

✔ The Keypad screen will display while the first call is placed on hold.

Quick Tip: To cancel the transfer, tap CANCEL TRANSFER at the top of the screen.

  2. Use the Keypad to dial the other party's extension or telephone number.
  3. Speak with the new call recipient when the new call is answered.
  4. Touch the Transfer button to completely transfer the call.

Quick Tip: To cancel the unattended call operation, touch the Cancel button.

Transfer a Call to Voicemail

One of the dialable codes that can be used on the Stratus mobile app is 03. When 03 is dialed in front of an extension number, you can be directly taken to that extension number's voicemailbox.

For example… If a user needs to leave a voicemail for extension 100, they can dial 0-3-1-0-0 from their app to be taken directly to x100's mailbox. They can wait for the greeting to stop playing to leave a message.

If a user needs to check extension 100's mailbox for them, they can dial 0-3-1-0-0. Once they hear the mailbox's greeting, they can press star (*) to interrupt the greeting and enter x100's voicemail PIN when prompted.

The 03 code can be used to transfer an active call to a user's voicemailbox as well. To transfer a caller to a voicemailbox using the 03 code…

To transfer a call to the voicemailbox of an internal user…

  1. On an active call, touch the transfer button.
  2. Use the Keypad to dial 03 and the user's extension number.

Quick Tip: If your mobile app has quick dials, you can go to the Quick Dials tab and press that button for the user after dialing 03.

For example… To transfer a caller to extension 100's mailbox using a quick dial, you would dial 03 and then tap their quick dial, which would add their extension number to the end of the code.
